“If the righteous are barely saved,
what will happen to godless sinners?”
1 peter 4:12-19 give us a clear understanding of what will happen to us as Christians. We all know what will happen. Everyone who stands up for anything in this world will face persecution, whether it’s Christianity or the Toronto Maple Leafs. Regardless of what you stand behind. The aspect of suffering that we often forget about is found in verse 18. If us as Christians are just barley saved. What happens to those who don’t believe? You think it’s tough for us right now, try an eternity in the smoking section.
The path for the non-Christian can be compared to an interstate. No bumps, no turns, no valleys, no potholes. But were does that path lead. Sure the journey has its good times, if you can remember them, but that path leads nowhere.
However the path for righteous is like driving down highway 32 in Winkler on a Sunday at around lunchtime. It’s hard to get on, it’s not fun on it and you are looking for the first opportunity to get off. That path for us is tough and if you’re new to it, you may be ready to throw in the towel. But please know this, whatever hardships, pain, heartaches, and hurts you have, you have a savior that has been there. Everything you’ve been through he’s seen it ten time worse. We were sinners and he still died for us.
He died for you, he loves you, he is the only way to heaven. He will never leave you or forsake you.
There is a purpose and a reason for everything he does.

Hey Trevor, thanks for the encouragement. I often struggle with the aspect that this Christian road that so many of us are on is always difficult. You get over one hurdle and an even bigger one is facing you. It often seems hopeless... I'm not sure it matters if you've been saved forever or saved yesterday, whether your walk is strong or faltering (though I suppose if its faltering the chances of hanging on through trials is less likely). Remembering that there is a God who cares, who knows you inside and out, and WANTS THE BEST FOR YOU, who wants you blessed (what father wouldn't??) is hard in the midst of some of the more challenging trials... I guess thats why we are to encourage each other in our walks, challenge each other, and hold each other accountable. Thats my ramble... just felt compelled to comment today!! Have a happy day everyone. God Cares... thats what I'm trying to hold on to... I hope you all are too!!!!
