OUR GOD REIGNS!

"The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb [Jesus]. Each one had a harp and they were holding bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. . . Then I looked and heard the voice of many angles, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and elders. In a loud voice they sang; "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdome and strength and honor and glory and praise!" Rev. 5:8b, 11-12

WHAT AN AWESOME SCENE!!!! No choir or parade I've ever seen comes close to the incredible picture I imagine when I consider the countless numbers of angels worshiping God together. This is the kind of treatment given to a GREAT AND GLORIOUS KING! Our God is the KING adn he rules the whole world. There is not one speck of dust that does not belong to him and isn't subject to his final command.

"The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad . . . the mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth." Psalm 971a, 5.

What should our response be to this proclamation? LET THE EARTH BE GLAD! Also:

"The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble, he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake . . . The king is mighty, he loves justice . . . Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy." Psalm 99: 1,4a,5

We are suppose to join in with the angels and worship our mighty king who owns all the world, trembling and with joy.

"If I was hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it." Psalm 50:12

These verses made me really excited! Do you know what it means for followers of Christ that God reigns over the earth? We don't have to be afraid of other people's beliefs and expectations of how we should behave and what we should think. We do not have to conform to the rest of the world because God is the true ruler of the world and his ways are right! Today, many things are taught as right to the world that God has said are wrong and some of Christ's followers forget that God has not changed his mind about these things. God wants us to obey the government, teachers, and parents, (Rom. 13:1-6) and try to live at peace with all people (Heb. 12:14), but only if doing so lines up with what God commands for the people he created. We are presently God's soldiers behind enemy lines, remember to serve the Lord while you are in enemy territory. (2 Tim. 2:3-4). Remember that even when things are grim, God still reigns and we need to patiently wait on him (Rev. 13:10) Evil will not reign forever. (Psalm 125:3). March on Christian soldier with great Joy as was talked about in yesterday's devo and look forward to the day when we to will reign with God forever! (Rev. 22:1-6) PRAISE JESUS! AMEN!
