How much time do we spend worrying each day?
We all have situations in our lives where we just don't feel comfortable with how things are going, or how the future is looking in a certain area.
Whether it's the pile of homework, the obnoxious co-worker, or the money that just isn't showing up when we think we need it.
Therefore do not worry saying, "What shall we eat?", or "What shall we drink?", or 'What shall we wear?'. For the sinners seek after these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. For the day has its own trouble.
Matt. 6:31-34
This passage is'nt telling us that God is going to give us what we want, but the stuff that we need.
But you say to me, ..., "I need a car to get around.", "I need the money so I can buy a new carpet in my house, because the old one is so lame and musty.", or you say something like, "I just can't stand how this person acts, and how they everybody".
These are all very valid points, ..., well, maybe not the one about the carpet, but that's beside the point.
There are lots of situations like this that we face. There are so many things that we want, but are all of them going to glorify God?
Now, for this situation with the person with the bad attitude, that you have to spend hours each day with.
Is this complaining about them the right thing to do?
Are we not called to love one another, ..., even the tough ones?
Instead of hoping that they change, maybe try changing your attitude towards them, and just be a good example for Christ.
So, my challenge is this.
Spend more time not thinking.
Don't use your brain at all...
Okay, that last line was sarcasm.
But seriously, ..., the mind fools us, it is deceitful.
I myself personally struggle with focusing at times.
At work I look at the clock quite a bit, counting down the minutes to each coffee break, and the time to go home.
I shouldn't be thinking about going home!! I should be thinking about my work, and my relationship with God and my co-workers! Not about my bed that's waiting for me at home, or the sandwhich that I'm dying to eat.
So, try living with your focus on 5 minutes at a time.
One step at a time, one conversation at a time, one problem at a time.
It doesn't help to worry about the future, ..., it isn't even here yet, and besides, God's got it taken care of already.
So don't be silly, be happy! (Cheesy)
God bless

Awesome post, Tim. A really good reminder. Also, the backwards title and the changing fonts are a nice touch :D
