Internal Makeover

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Lately I've been thinking a lot about right and wrong and how to figure out what God wants me to do in difficult situations. One thing that I've realized is that in order to become more like Jesus we need to move beyond simply trying to figure out a set or rules to follow or outlining a perfect code of conduct. These things will simply show us where we fall short, like the Old Testament Law. What we truly need is an internal makerover, a transformation of our minds and hearts to begin to think and see situations like God does. Then the right thing to do will become more obvious. There are always times when we can not understand what God is thinking and need to obey interesting commands, but I think God wants to teach us how to look at situations from his point of view. So I challenge you to ask God to reveal to you what you need to see in the hard situations in your life or with the sins you struggle with. What he reveals to you will change your life if you accept it as truth and help free you from things you are a slave to. Trust God's wisdom in your life!

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgements, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:33-36

For who has know the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Cor. 2:16

Rock on for Christ,
